Code of Ethics
As an employee of a licensed
detective agency, I understand my
position gives me a tremendous responsibility to my firm, the
clients, the subjects of each investigation, and the general public.
I further realize that certain actions or lack of action on my part
can have adverse consequences to myself, my employer, clients,
and subjects and witnesses. Therefore, as an employee of
Edward R. Kirby & Associates, I pledge:
1. To conduct
each and every phase of every investigation in a fair and impartial manner.
|
2. To conduct
each investigation in a manner which will secure the maximum amount of information, with a
minimum of time and expense, in a professional manner.
|
3. To conduct
each and every investigation in accordance with the law.
|
4. To remember
always my responsibilities to be fair not only to the client but also to every subject,
witness, person, or entity touched by my investigations.
|
5. To be
conscious of the individual privacy rights of each subject and client and to conduct my
investigations in balance with those rights.
|
6. To
understand the confidential nature of the work we perform and never to disclose any
information to any unauthorized party.
|
7. To
understand that my actions are a reflection on my client and to make sure my actions
always reflect positively on the client.
|
8. To
refuse to work any investigation which would interfere or subvert any legitimate law
enforcement activity and to cooperate unhesitatingly with law enforcement agencies as
required.
|
9. To
prepare accurate and unbiased reports in a prompt manner.
|
10. To work not
for reward or bounty, but to charge a fee based upon an honest effort rather than upon a
favorable result.
